Our owners were keen to move onto a larger property from a residential block. They found a lovely parcel of land, with a 30year old home. With a vision to build a beautiful Hamptons Farmhouse we set about working together to create their dream.
Whilst the existing home was very tidy, it was also very small. There was a sizeable pool already on the property. There were some issues with the site not being drained well and after rain the area around the existing house stayed wet for some time.
Whilst we would always like to retain and renovate a home onsite if possible, it was clear from our owner’s scope of works this was never going to work.
With a decision made to knockdown the existing home it was then all about the design. The pool was definitely worth retaining, and the home was designed around the pool.
The Result
Through discussions between DPH, owners and designer a beautiful Hamptons Farmhouse was brough to life. After the existing home was removed, fill was brought in raise the level around the home and thus alleviate the water issue. The pool was retained and refurbished into a spectacular resort style pool and outdoor area.
