STEP ONE

Discovery Meeting

While other builders start with a catalogue of standard house designs, we start with you, your land, and a blank piece of paper. We take time to understand the vision you have for your new home. Then we help you optimize these ideas to bring out the best in your acreage block. And we help you to prioritize your budget to get more house for your money. Although this first introduction is via the phone, it will give a good indication of suitability to move to the next step. And in any case, you’ll receive honest answers to your questions and helpful information from our 35+ years of building experience to give you the best possible start in building your new acreage home.

STEP TWO

Site Visit

Now it’s time to meet in person onsite where we will walk your land, assess each feature, and hear your story in full. We will share insights that are specific to acreage building including tips on planning your driveway, water, power, septic systems and more. We will provide information about timelines and scheduling. And give you recommendations on orientation and floorplan to help you make the most of your unique acreage property. We will recap everything in an email so you can relax without needing to take notes. This is all completely free and without obligation.

STEP THREE

Concept Proposal

With confirmation that we understand your vision, we will invite you to formalize the design stage of your new home with a Concept Proposal. You will meet with our Designer who will transfer your ideas to paper and create your first Design Sketch. We will undertake Soil Testing, Contours, and provide a feasibility estimate for engineering, joinery, and other critical design elements. At the end of this stage you’ll have a solid overview of your new house.

STEP FOUR

Finalize Plans for Working Drawings

Building a custom home involves hundreds of decisions that can be overwhelming. But don’t worry – with our step-by-step guidance, and network of trusted suppliers, our clients find this stage enjoyable and exciting. This includes finalizing the floorplan, selecting your fixtures and fittings, and completing engineering. While other builders often ask you to sign a contract full of ‘allowance’ clauses (where the price can change drastically based on specific selections you want), our contract will be comprehensive and complete, so you have full confidence knowing precisely what you’re getting and exactly what it costs before you commit to a contract.

STEP FIVE

Prelims For Construction

Proper planning is the key to a successful, hassle-free building project. And this is where our system really shines. Before we pick up a single tool, we order and schedule everything so we can be confident that materials and trades will be onsite at exactly the right time to keep your build on track.

STEP SIX

Construction

It’s time to start building. And although most people think this is the challenging part, our proven system and detailed planning ensures everything runs predictably and smoothly starting with site works, driveway, and power. Then it’s time to prepare the footings and pour the slab. The frame goes up next, followed by the roof and windows. By this stage your house is really taking shape. Now it’s time for the plumber and electrician to make rough in connections before the external cladding is added. Moving inside we line the walls, install kitchen and bathrooms, add floor coverings, and paint. The plumber and electrician return to finish connections before the council inspects and certifies everything.

STEP SEVEN

Handover

Before we give you the keys, we spend 2 whole days going over your house with a magnifying glass to ensure everything is perfect. Then we walk through with you and make note of anything you spot. And there’s no rush – we go through all rooms to make sure everything opens and shuts (literally) perfectly. We show you how everything works and present you with a folder of manuals and guarantees for your records. And we continue to support you with 9 and 12 month inspections where we will attend to any issues.
